I’ve been following Chris and Sam (aka Adventure Van Family) for a while now, and I like the cut of their jib. Based in rural Dorset with their two birth creations Isabelle (9) and Barnaby (5) they’ve built an adventurous existence around the relentless mayhem of modern parenting.

They both work in marketing, and for the past year they’ve also been renovating a 180-year-old cottage. 

Their adventures feel achievable; they’re not permanently homeschooling from a converted school bus halfway up a Norwegian mountain. They’ve got jobs. Their kids go to school. There are presumably swimming lessons to remember and bins to put out. They just seem very good at making space for adventure amongst all of it, which is, really, what Outside Kids is all about.
